ERII Headquarters

A home for the future of mineral resources

ERII is transforming a 7,427-square-foot property in Golden, Colorado, into a permanent center for education, research, innovation, and industry collaboration.

The headquarters will bring students, researchers, educators, mining companies, and technical experts together under one roof—creating a place where knowledge becomes experience, ideas become solutions, and emerging professionals prepare to lead the mineral resources sector.

More than a building

Infrastructure for lasting impact

Addressing the mineral workforce gap requires more than individual programs. It requires a place where education, research, technology, and industry can intersect every day.

The ERII Headquarters will provide the shared infrastructure needed to expand applied training, support emerging professionals, advance industry-connected research, and strengthen collaboration across the mineral resources community.

Located near downtown Golden and the Colorado School of Mines, the headquarters will establish a visible and accessible home for ERII’s growing work.

The Drill Core Academy

Practical training begins here

The Drill Core Academy will initially operate through the ERII Headquarters, providing students and early-career professionals with practical training in:

  • Drill-core logging

  • Geological and structural interpretation

  • Sampling and data collection

  • Mineral systems analysis

  • Modern exploration technologies and workflows

  • Technical communication and professional practice

As participation grows, ERII plans to develop a dedicated Academy facility with expanded training capacity, specialized equipment, and access to drill core representing a range of mineral systems.

This phased approach allows ERII to deliver high-impact training now while building toward a nationally significant center for applied geoscience education.

A two-phase vision

Building capacity for the future

Phase one: Establish the ERII Headquarters

Renovate and equip the Golden property as ERII’s permanent home for leadership, research, student engagement, industry collaboration, innovation, convening, and initial Drill Core Academy programming.

Phase two: Establish the Drill Core Academy

Develop a dedicated training facility capable of serving larger cohorts, housing specialized equipment and drill-core collections, and expanding hands-on education for students and professionals.

Together, these facilities will create an integrated platform for workforce development, applied research, and mineral-sector innovation.
